Founder of Freespirits Travel, Ülkü Şimşek is also a licensed professional tourist guide in Turkey since 2008, with more than 18 years of experience in the travel industry. Speaking several languages and having traveled across more than 50 countries, she believes travel is not simply about seeing places, but about creating meaningful connections with cultures, people and stories.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with international travelers and some of Istanbul’s most prestigious luxury hotels, including Four Seasons, Çırağan Palace Kempinski, Raffles, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis and Swissôtel — experiences that helped shape Freespirits’ philosophy of combining comfort, authenticity and carefully curated travel experiences.
The name “Freespirits” was inspired by her own solo journeys, adventures and passion for discovering the world beyond ordinary tourism. Today, that same spirit shapes every Freespirits journey — blending culture, comfort, local connection and meaningful discovery.
